Where Reality Bleeds Through...

This was my crit show piece for my first university project hand in. It is a 3D acrylic and wax painting that seemingly melts onto the floor. Inspired by Sartre's work 'Nausea' and existential ideologies, my work  symbolises the divide and contradictions between both  the body and external perception as it haemorrhages outward. Through this practice, I aim to understand how I perceive reality on a personal level, not allowing my art to fall too much into any certain philosophy or ideal, but instead contradict and evolve into something that is completely my own.
